Staying in Nafpaktos one may visit the river Evinos where you can enjoy canoeing, rafting or kayaking, or visit the mountains of Nafpaktia, a trip we think that all high mountain lovers will adore. Don't forget to stop at Ano Hora and Elatodasos. Also the artificial lake of Mornos is worth seeing and the Panagia Abelakiotisa.

Two blue flag beaches, Psani and Gribovo, organized with showers and changing rooms. Golden sand and giant trees by the seashore; the perfect conditions to have fun without getting sunburned!

And if you are water sports lovers you can easily visit the beaches nearby Nafpaktos Chiliadou (11 km), Platanites and Monastiraki (12 km), Marathias (17 km).

An Archaeological Museum, the 600 years castle of Nafpaktos, the Clock Bell-tower of Nafpaktos, a Summer and a Winter cinema where you can watch the latest movies.

Recommended: Get in Nafpaktos in the summer time for the Papacharalabia; a cycle of sports and arts events, with participants from Greece and other countries. Ancient Drama Plays are presented within the charming atmosphere of the castle.

Also a perfect time for a visit is early October; the anniversary of the naval battle of Nafpaktos, when various events take place. Another great time for a visit is Easter. Especially on Good Friday the atmosphere in the harbour is something else. All the town lights go out and big fires are lit by the castle guard rooms.

Recommended: Even take a fishing rod down to the jetty or go for a swim. The town that has lasted for 3.500 years, surviving invaders, pirates and earthquakes awaits you!
